Brazilian artist Tjor returns to Wrong Era with his 5-track EP ‘Multiflex’. This release showcases his unique blend of brooding arrangements and hopeful, esoteric tones, highlighting his remarkable ability to continuously evolve sonically. Opening with a rich kick and harmonious pads, ‘Hyperdrive’ sets a robust tone and reinforces Tjor’s sonic charm. Swelling to an acidic echo of the purity of 1980s Chicago house, his innovative approach courses through the track.

The Proto-haze of ‘Electric Shadows’ follows this poignant opening, allowing Multiflex to unfurl into Tjor’s signature Italo-arps and unmistakable feel. Peeling back the curtains on his present-day sound, the track thrusts listeners into an ever-euphoric zone. Swirling melodics, kiss the sides of the stereo field with the defined march of the percussion below. Tjor opens the gates to his refined synth-wave sound and builds upon his constant strengths as a producer.

‘Italofunk’ lends itself to Tjor’s ever-present second nature of keeping momentum with unfolding arps and swelling harmonies. The track maintains the rising cerebral energy with each transition, expertly timed and perfectly perceived. Spoken vocals drift across the track. The thunderous midpoint of Multiflex is met with impeccable drum programming and unmistakable force. The bespoke Italo energy of ‘Supernova’ reaches the heights of its fitting title. Between the infectious conga sequences and delicious acid lines, the phased bassline pushes through, transporting listeners to the palpable energy of the early hours of Italorama Bar. Vocal chops flutter across the spectrum, guiding the fizzing swells and cascading payoffs.

Multiflex concludes with the track ‘Night Mode Active’, which captivates listeners with its irresistible bassline. Disco string stabs pay a tasteful homage to the seminal sounds of the late seventies, making it a perfect choice for a sunset session. Multiflex embodies hopeful existentialism, evoking Tjor’s Balearic beachside sensibilities and proto-finesse, showcasing his unique sonic versatility that keeps listeners wanting more.’
